Children who are waiting for refugee status – temporary Latvians in Mucenieki.
Refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Belarus have come to Latvia and are waiting for refugee status. In total, about 120 people, of whom about 50 CHILDREN. They all live in the center of assistance to refugees in Mucenieki. There they receive the necessary food and other necessary needs, and studying the Latvian language. Language courses provided for adults and children. For adults that goes easier, but children needs more work and attention. Our organisation Bioetika took part in this initiative and sent a volunteer – social worker to help children to learn basics of the Latvian language. There are only a few groups of children and groups are large enough. We are pleased to take part in the organization of care for children, and we thank those who continue their work in the social center for refugees in Mucenieki.
